AMV-X is the epitome of small-batch craft and vineyard-driven expression – an exciting, handcrafted blend that weaves together four distinctive varietals from four unique McLaren Vale sites. This wine captures the diversity of soils, elevations and microclimates that make the region one of the most dynamic in Australia.
Tempranillo from the dark biscay soils of the Little Road Vineyard near Willunga forms the wine’s structural backbone, contributing dark mulberry, liquorice, and a deep savoury core. Grenache, sourced from the sandy soils over clay in Blewitt Springs, brings a fragrant lift of red fruits, pepper and spice. From the slate and loam soils high in the Sellicks Foothills, Mataro adds dried herbs, dark plum and a moreish rustic depth. Finally, Carignan, grown in the clay and limestone of the Warboys Vineyard, delivers floral aromatics and a balancing earthiness.
