Isabella is a highly fragrant pinot noir, its old vine fruits singing proudly with plenty of both blue fruits and flowers, ferrous earthy mineral depth and a little dried sage. The palate is quite youthful at this stage but riddled with complexities where the combination of the old vine D5V12 and MV6 components of the Coldstream site set the scene for this pinot that’s both pretty and structured. Again on the palate blueberries and plum fruits feature as do chestnut, suede tannins and cooling acidity that flows deliciously now but will reveal its full potential given a few years in the cellar.
